Weekend Wrap-Up & Easter Basket Finds

After a very full weekend, I’m kind of wishing I could have had a couple more days to catch up on sleep, do some laundry, and straighten up the house…however, that’s definitely not on the agenda, so, I’ll just have to get over that notion.

The weekend started early on Thursday night when I picked up my sister from the airport — in our general area for business, she made a detour to Houston to hang out with us over her birthday weekend — after several delays, we finally made it back home around 10PM…toddler delirium was in full-force. Without regard for Caroline’s mental state, we celebrated with cake…and she definitely helped herself to several handfuls of chocolate frosting.

I know, the chalkboard trend is kind of passé, but, there is something about chalkboards that I just can’t get over {maybe it’s because I’m a teacher…I dunno, ha!}. I’ve got SO many friends having babies these days, that I wanted to be able to give them something small and personalized to commemorate their little’s day of birth — something that could be hung on their hospital room door, serve as decor in their nurseries, or even possibly be used as a prop in newborn pictures. Something simple, sweet, and from the heart.

While I am still sweet on the idea of chalkboards, I can’t lie…I am NOT a fan of the printable chalkboards — they just look kind of silly to me…sorry if you like that kinda thing, it’s just personal preference.

NEW BLOG! At the end of February, I attended the Thrive Blog Conference…my main goal with going to the conference was to either completely abandon my personal blogging efforts, or, get motivated and give it one last shot. I decided that my old blog New Mom Problems {which evolved from a previous dead end, ha!}, kind of pigeon-holed me into being a “Mommy Blogger” — which, duh, I write for Houston Moms Blog, so, yes, I suppose I am, BUT, I felt like with such a narrow focus, I was really losing a bit of my identity, and had become altogether unmotivated. So, here we are! I designed this blog to be somewhat minimalist so that as I build my content, there are no distractions, no conflicts of interest — just a blank slate to say what I want to say…it’s pretty refreshing, honestly. So, click around {obviously this is my FIRST post on here, so, I’ve got a ways to go!}, and I do hope you’ll stay for a while! All social media links are in the sidebar, so, connect with me!
